This past 4th of July celebration I whipped together a deliciously patriotic dessert for a family BBQ. This recipe was fun, easy, and looked fantastic on the dessert table. For the red, white and blue theme I chose strawberries and blueberries but you can use any of your favorite berries or fruit anytime of the year. For this recipe I only needed 4 ingredients and 10 minutes in prep time.
Ingredients: 1 quart strawberries, sliced / 1 quart blueberries / 8 ounce whipped topping / 1 package Nadja's Petite Angel Cakes
Instructions: Cube 3 Petite Angel Cakes and layer into bottom of glass bowl.
Add half the strawberries and half the blueberries over the first layer of chopped Angel Cakes. Layer with half the whipped topping.
Repeat adding the remaining 3 Angel Cakes cubed, followed by the remaining blueberries and strawberries (save a handful to decorate the top) and finish with the remaining amount of whipped topping and the remaining berries for decroation.
For fun and to complete the presentation, shave some chocolate on the top to complete the presentation. Use any chocolate that you like and shave over top with a knife.
Cover and place in refriedgerator until ready to serve and enjoy with family and friends!
Serves 6. This recipe can be easily doubled for a larger crowd. Subsititute the strawberries and blueberries with raspberries, blackberries or fresh peaches!
